Programme for Thursday 23 July 2020

Our world-class Global Offshore Wind event has never been more accessible as we launch GOW V-Fest. This virtual festival will explore offshore wind’s role in the green economic recovery, energy transition and opportunities for innovation. Over three days, you will hear from experts sharing insights, knowledge and expertise on the latest developments in offshore wind in the UK, Europe and the world.

Our online conference programme is combined with a virtual exhibition hall to create a unique virtual networking experience for professionals, students and aspiring enthusiasts of the wind industry.  Quite simply: GOW V-Fest 22-24 July 2020 is the virtual place to be!

23 July 2020:  Energy Transition

Offshore wind is growing across the globe, but what is the scale of the ambition and how far can it take us towards net zero? These two sessions will showcase RenewableUK’s Energy Vision and the latest outlook for the global offshore wind market. We will discuss how energy systems will change to accommodate increasing volumes of renewable electricity, including the role of demand side response and the potential for green hydrogen.

BUILDING A LOW CARBON ENERGY SYSTEM
We are all enthusiastic for a new system that is zero-carbon and green – but how do we ensure we have the right infrastructure and systems? How can we manage high volumes of offshore wind? What needs to happen for us to reach our net zero targets?
