RE-SourceUK 2019 is the UK’s leading corporate and public sector energy procurement event.
RenewableUK and the Solar Trade Association are working in partnership to deliver this event in the UK, bringing the European RE-Source platform to the UK for the first time. This is a must attend event for those looking at buying and selling renewable power, and is free to attend for all corporate and public energy buyers.
The potential for corporate sourcing of renewable energy here in the UK is significant. Renewable power is now the established low-cost source of power generation, but corporate purchasing of renewable power directly from providers is a largely immature and untapped market. Renewable energy companies see this as a route to unlock the potential of a new and promising financing stream in an unsubsidised market, while businesses see procuring renewables as a route to increase competitiveness and help meet their climate and sustainability needs.
But regional governments, local authorities and public sector organisations also have a fundamental role to play in decarbonising the UK economy. These groups are increasingly recognising that PPA-contracted solar and wind power provide good investment opportunities to deliver public services, support the growth of renewables and reduce their climate impact. The recent leadership in procuring advanced, multi-technology PPAs, while considering whole system impacts in the UK has in fact come from the public sector.
RE-Source was established by SolarPower Europe, Wind Europe , RE100 (The Climate Group and CDP) and WBCSD as a forum to link senior decision makers, energy buyers and renewable generators and to help promote and grow the European Corporate PPA market. We are working in partnership with these groups to spread this message, including public sector sourcing of renewables, into the UK.
Join multinational corporations, local authorities, renewable energy developers and senior decision-makers at this exciting new event to learn, network and do business.
