RWE Renewables

RWE is the largest power producer in Wales, and the country’s number one renewable energy generator. We are already involved in over 3 gigawatts (GW) of energy in Wales across 12 sites, including 1 GW of renewables, and see the country as playing a key role in our journey towards decarbonisation and energy security. Our ambitious renewables development pipeline includes seven onshore and one offshore wind projects, and we are also actively investigating opportunities for over 1GW of floating wind in the Celtic Sea, the generation of green hydrogen and the decarbonisation of our gas plants, as well as battery storage and solar opportunities. RWE already employs over 300 people, plus many more indirectly, from our main offices in Baglan, Dolgarrog and Port of Mostyn, as well as onsite at our power stations. In the last 10 years, with partners, RWE invested over £3 billion in Wales’ renewables projects, creating jobs and helping grow the supply chain. We’re working with partners to increase these figures further through future investment and growth.

Globally, RWE is leading the way to a green energy world. With an extensive investment and growth strategy, the company will expand its powerful, green generation capacity to 50 gigawatts internationally by 2030. RWE is investing €50 billion gross for this purpose, this decade. The portfolio is based on offshore and onshore wind, solar, hydrogen, batteries, biomass and gas.
