Celtic Sea Cluster

The Celtic Sea Cluster Board was established by Welsh Government and Cornwall & Isle of Scilly LEP and supported by Marine Energy Wales, Cornwall Council owned Wave Hub Development Services Ltd (trading as Celtic Sea Power) and Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. The Board has agreed Terms of Reference and identified enabling actions to be delivered through working groups to accelerate market creation in the Celtic Sea, identify project pipeline and reduce project timelines, mobilise the regional supply chain, establish a strategy for infrastructure and help deliver the Governments Offshore Wind Sector Deal for UK content. The CSC Board now includes The Crown Estate as an associate member, representation from the Celtic Sea Developers Alliance and UK Government BEIS as a formal observer. The Celtic Sea Cluster was formally launched in Cardiff, Wales, in September 2021 and now has over 120 members and is developing a strategic board membership to include local government representation.

Bute Energy

Bute Energy are designing renewable energy parks in Wales, for Wales. The climate emergency is the most pressing concern of our times. We’re driving the shift to a decarbonized energy system across Wales by creating a family of energy parks that generate clean, green onshore power and bring critical economic growth to our communities.  We’re privately owned, for public good. We want to make sure Wales is a thriving, healthy, wealthy nation that independently powered by renewable, sustainable and decarbonization energy – this is our vision for a future Wales. Our mission is to deliver on this promise – by creating renewable energy projects that provide clean, affordable power whilst fostering local economic growth and social wellbeing.  Our parks across Wales will deliver 25% of the green energy that Welsh Government says we need to get to Net Zero, playing a pivotal role in meeting their target for 100% renewable electricity in Wales by 2035.

BlueFloat Energy | Renantis Partnership

The Partnership brings together BlueFloat Energy and Renantis with the aim of contributing to a world leading floating offshore wind industry in the UK, combining innovative technology with a plan to attract and grow a skilled workforce and stimulate a thriving local supply chain. In the Celtic Sea, we are developing two floating offshore wind projects, Llywelyn and Petroc, located in Welsh and English waters, which could make a significant contribution to helping the UK achieve its 5GW target for floating offshore wind by 2030. The Partnership has two floating wind sites in Scotland – Broadshore north of Fraserburgh and Bellrock east of Aberdeen, as well as the majority stake in the consortium with Ørsted to develop the Stromar project east of Wick. We also secured bid success in the recent INTOG leasing round with two innovation projects, Sinclair & Scaraben, which lie adjacent to Broadshore. https://www.bluefloat.com https://www.renantis.com
