Member Connects & Tours (Members Only)

RenewableUK Member Connects have built a reputation as the networking event for renewables in the UK. They provide excellent networking opportunities for our members, with non-members welcome to attend by invitation.

Join a RenewableUK tour!
RenewableUK tours are a great opportunity to learn more about the sector, visit interesting facilities, centres & factories and to network with individuals from across the UK & internationally.
In 2019, these tours started when RenewableUK took a number of our members on a visit to the Isle of Wight for a tour of the Vestas Blade Factory. Since then, we have taken trips to hydrogen test sites, innovation centres, grid factory, subsea test centres, O&M bases and CTV’s.

"Thanks to RUK for organising and Vattenfall for hosting a site visit to Pen y Cymoedd. It was interesting to understand how the project progressed and changed, as well as lessons learnt e.g. how planning conditions that were drafted eight years ago might not be fit for purpose. The positive action taken to both locating infrastructure within areas of peat but also managing its restoration and enhancement is a significant positive for the project and Wales. It was also a useful and additional networking event – albeit slightly colder than the conference!"

Jack Pugsley, Associate Director- Planning, Savills

"An excellent morning with the Vattenfall team at the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm. It was fantastic to see how much effort had been put into the original planning of the windfarm which included detailed environmental studies and maximizing use of the local supply chain and providing community benefist. The work ongoing to restore peatland degraded by reforestation in the area was truly inspirational and will also provide wider benefits through knowledge sharing."

"There is simply no substitute for seeing it with your own eyes, spending a few hours deep diving into a subject, and interacting with those who know the subject intimately. RUK's visit to SGRE's blade factory in Hull wasn't my first time at a blade factory, but a great learning experience. I also thoroughly enjoyed networking with others from the industry during the course of the day, and made useful new connections."

Rich Furniss - Founder and Director, POSET-renew Ltd

"The visit to GE’s factory in Staffordshire in June was thorough and highly informative, a must-see for anyone involved in understanding the technology needed for building and operating modern wind farms. RUK’s tour arrangements with GE worked well and the gathering of wind industry professionals from around the world gave opportunity for some useful networking."

Paul Savvides - Offshore Purchasing Manager- Mainstream Renewable Power

"’It was just fantastic that Renewable UK arranged a the tour of the ORE Catapult facility at Blyth. It was truly fascinating to see the test rings up close, to appreciate the scale of the components and to understand the whole gambit of tests that are carried out there. It made me feel really proud that we have such an innovative facility here in the North East and to meet people from all around the globe who had travelled to attend the event."

Victoria Beattie - Head of Estates, Port of Tyne
