AIFCL

Aviation Investment Fund Company Limited (AIFCL) is the wind industry funding body, formed in 2009, to support the various work streams under the Government’s Aviation Plan, overseen by the (now) BEIS chaired Aviation Management Board. AIFCL’s members include ScottishPower Renewables, Innogy, SSE Renewables, E.ON, Vattenfall, RES, Banks Renewables, EDF, Falck Renewables, Ecotricity, ESB, Engie, EnergieKontor and REG Windpower. AIFCL has spent over £4m funding R&D activities under the Aviation Plan. With its remaining funds, it is working to “Enable the Road to 2030”, that is ensuring that windfarm tolerance is an integral element in next generation surveillance systems and that aviation stakeholders assume responsibility for their surveillance infrastructure being WTG tolerant by 2030.

OWIC

The Offshore Wind Industry Council (OWIC), a senior Government and industry forum, was established in May 2013 to drive the development of the world-leading offshore wind sector in the UK. It is comprised of members drawn from the leading UK and global firms in the offshore wind industry, including developers and original equipment manufacturers. The Council oversee and drive the implementation of the Sector Deal, and are supported by a Secretary/Offshore Wind Sector Deal Programme Manager, hosted within RenewableUK.
