AIFCL

Aviation Investment Fund Company Limited (AIFCL) is the wind industry funding body, formed in 2009, to support the various work streams under the Government’s Aviation Plan, overseen by the (now) BEIS chaired Aviation Management Board.  AIFCL’s members include ScottishPower Renewables, Innogy, SSE Renewables, E.ON, Vattenfall, RES, Banks Renewables, EDF, Falck Renewables, Ecotricity, ESB, Engie, EnergieKontor and REG Windpower.   AIFCL has spent over £4m funding R&D activities under the Aviation Plan.  With its remaining funds, it is working to “Enable the Road to 2030”, that is ensuring that windfarm tolerance is an integral element in next generation surveillance systems and that aviation stakeholders assume responsibility for their surveillance infrastructure being WTG tolerant by 2030.
